Political crackdown in China
Only two months have passed since Zhu Yufu has been arrested. In April 13th of 2011 a fairly well known official was under arrest. He joined in democratic movements in China. He was as well as a political activist. China, on the way to political changes arrested a high- ranking official. A charge of his detention was for provoking an insurgency. “No matter how high positioned he is, his act of the country in danger cannot not be tolerated” said the spokesperson in Chinese embassy in Washington. They added that this restriction was no more than working within the constitution just like US rules.
China’s political crackdown seems to have been loosened but it is getting strained again these days. During the days of Jasmine revolution in Middle East there were many encouraged protests on online phone from activists in China. Allegedly demonstrations were made through phone calls expressing their inspiration earned from the revolution in Middle East. Chinese government did not stand about on the issue but clamped down on those gatherings and detained them.
Another caller shouting for a political reform was taken away from his residence. His name was unveiled, Ai Wei Wei accordingly. The police officially stated that he was not involved in a political unrest and his accusation had no connection to it at all, but that he was just summoned to investigate whether he was involved in business crimes. His mother is now waiting without any information provided and not knowing his whereabouts.
Another visit paid by President Kim Jung ill of North Korea to China struck as breaking news recently. Kim Jung ill’s third visit has been hosted secretly at first, but his visit was confirmed later on in May this year. Recently, China is presumed to be making an effort to keep friendly with its political friend, North Korea. With an abundant economic support for North Korea, their relationship has been counting until now and their political solidarity is strong enough to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of foundation this year. China responded to a question from US with nothing confirmed, which has been asked about the willingness of China to give out an aid to North Korea. However, by continuing to support economic aid, China reconfirmed its intention to keep North Korea as its political ally. US alliance was dispatched in North Korea to check their economic status since there was a meeting happened rapidly between the two in a regular term.
